Treatment of Autoimmune and Degenerative Diseases Using Divergent Meridian and Extraordinary Fu Treatments

Introduction to Divergent Meridians and Extraordinary Fu

Chapters 11 of the Su Wen and Ling Shu highlight a connection between the Jing Bie (divergent meridians) and the six extraordinary Fu organs. Both these pathways operate at a profound level, often associated with Jing-Shen, the deep essence-spirit level in Chinese medicine.

Applying a Holistic Approach to Treat Complex Pathologies

By utilizing treatments along the five different pathway systems, practitioners can address varying depths and complexities of disease. This approach offers a comprehensive framework to treat a broad spectrum of pathologies, targeting deep-seated conditions effectively.

Indications for Divergent Meridian Treatments

The six pairs of divergent meridians can be used to address a range of autoimmune and degenerative diseases, including:
  • Neurological Conditions
    o Parkinson’s Disease
    o Alzheimer’s Disease
    o Brain dysfunctions
    o Stroke recovery
    o Wei syndrome
    o Malignant tumors
  • Reproductive and Chronic Gynecological Disorders
    o Endometriosis
    o Chronic uterine conditions
    o Organ of Ming Men
  • Musculoskeletal and Blood Stagnation Issues
    o Fibromyalgia
o Generalized blood stagnation, particularly in geriatric cases
  • Metabolic and Digestive Diseases
    o Diabetes and diabetic neuropathy
o Morbus Crohn and leaky gut syndrome
    o Immune deficiency
  • Respiratory and Gastrointestinal Disorders
    o Thyroid dysfunction
    o Food allergies
    o IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
    o Colitis
    o Chronic lung conditions (COPD)

Understanding the Common Underlying Pattern

In Chinese medical terms, these various diseases share a common denominator: an imbalance of Wei Qi at the level of Yuan Qi. Recognizing this shared root allows for a generalized approach to treatment, utilizing the six pairs of divergent meridians to create tailored, effective interventions across these different disease categories.
